The slick plate on the Gold Cube uses a controlled water flow to turn aggregate material into a slurry, with lighter particles being forced ahead of heavier material. The heaviest element, gold, will be the last to reach the trough. The slurry then falls into a gated trough and is forced under water by centrifugal force. The gold is forced to the outer edge of the rounded trough and exits on the opposite side of the gate.
The Gold Cube’s vortex matting has small pillar walls and cavities that create a low-pressure zone in the center of each cavity, trapping gold and forcing it to the bottom of the vortexes. Passing gold will be trapped and held in place by the lighter material. This creates a cup of super concentrates at clean-up.
